Income and Poverty in Brooks County, Texas

Black or African American headed households had median income levels that were 0.7 percent greater than the all population median published in the 2000 Census, with a median of $21,938. In Brooks County, Texas White householders had a median income (2005 Dollars) of $22,053 according to the 2000 Dencennial Census, which was 1.2 percent greater than the median in 2000. Hispanic Householders in Brooks County, Texas , according to the 2000 census, had a median household income of $20,917, this income level is 4 percent less than reported value of the areas total household median income for all households. The American Indian and Alaska Native headed households in Brooks County had a median income of $14,416, this level was 33.8 percent less than the median level for total households in the area.
