The total number of jobs has increased by 4.9 percent since the 2nd Quarter figures of 2005. This change is greater than growth in the State of Texas, which went through a gain of 4.0 percent since 2005 ( 2nd Quarter). The gains in the area were greater than than the gain experienced overall in the US of 2.0 percent.

In Brazoria County, Texas as reported in the Census of the year 2000, 20.8 percent of the White Alone, 17.2 percent of Black or African American, 51.6 percent of the Asian alone and 7.6 percent of the Hispanic or Latino population, over the age 25, has achieved at least a Bachelors Degree.
