Lubbock County Five-Year Industry Employment Change

Total employment has increased by 1.7 percent from 2001 (2nd Quarter). These figures are less than percent in Texas, which went through a gain of 4.8 percent since the 2nd Quarter of 2001. The gains were less than than the gain experienced overall in the US of 2.6 percent.

Income and Poverty in Lubbock County, Texas

Evaluated with other counties (or parishes) across the nation, Lubbock County, Texas can be recognized as having a relatively high poverty rate amid the residents with a poverty rate of 17.8 percent of the population with family incomes below the 1999 poverty level. Lubbock County, Texas had an estimated population of 252,284 in the year 2005. The population has increased, since the 2000 total population of 242,863. This growth shows an increase of 3.9 percent. Lubbock ranks 29 of 254 counties in terms of population growth in Texas and the county ranks 332 of 3,141 counties in terms of population growth in the United States.
