Total industry employment has increased by 22.5 percent since the 2nd Quarter of 2001. This is greater than growth in the State of Texas, experiencing a gain of 4.8 percent since the 2nd Quarter of 2001. Income and Poverty in Parker County, Texas

While household income level experienced a growth since 2000 in Parker County, Texas, the Race/Ethnicity category that felt the biggest growth in median income was the Black or African American category. This category saw an increase of 78.3 percent since the year 2000. The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Parker County, Texas, the most common level of education achieved in the area for the male population is the Some College or Associates Degree category, with 30.4 percent obtaining this level of education. The women in Parker have attainment on average a lower level of higher education (Bachelors or Higher) than men -- 19.2 percent (Men) versus 18 percent (Women). Many of the women in the area have achieved the Some College or Associates Degree category, with 32.4 percent of the women population in the area achieving this level of education.

Parker County, Texas has a population base that is comprised of 87.8 percent White, 2 percent African American, 0.5 percent Asian, and 8.4 percent Hispanic. Educational services from 2001-2005 had the highest increase in employment in Parker County, with an employment growth of 70.3 percent. This is greater than the change of total jobs in the industry for the United States of 13.8 percent.
