Income and Poverty in Potter County, Texas

The 2000 Decennial Census reported that in Potter County, Texas, many men in the area have reached the High School Diploma category, with 29.8 percent achieving this level. The female population in Potter on average have achieved a lower level of higher education (Bachelors Degree or Higher) than the male population-- 14.4 percent (Men) versus 12.8 percent (Women). Potter County, Texas had a population of 119,852 in 2005. The total population has increased sharply, since the 2000 total population of 113,733. This growth signifies an increase of 5.4 percent. Potter ranks 36 of 254 counties when analyzing total population change in Texas and the county ranks 448 of 3,141 counties when calculating the total change in county population across the US.

When measuring the total land area, Potter encompasses a total area of 909 square miles. The county has a medium-low density of 132 persons per square mile.
