From the 197 industries (3-digit NAICS) with sufficient data reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in each year, 20 did not experience any change, 116 showed an escalation in the number employed, and 61 industry sectors reported declines during the time period. Out of the 3-digit NAICS industries, the Professional and technical services industry has added the most employment with 37,994 employees finding new jobs in the industry. Food services and drinking places (18,363 new jobs) Of the area's industries (3-digit NAICS), the Executive, legislative and general government industry has lost the most employment with a total loss of 15403 jobs during the time period.
