Higher Education in Southampton County, Virginia

In 2000, the Census reported that in Southampton County, Virginia, the most common level of education achieved in the area for the male population is the Less than High School category, with 41.8 percent reaching this education level. The female population in Southampton have attainment on average a greater level of higher education (Bachelors or Higher) than men -- 10.4 percent (Men) versus 13 percent (Women). Many of the women in the area have achieved the Less than High School category, with 31.6 percent of the areas female population attaining this level of education.
