Northampton County, Virginia has a population base that is comprised of 54 percent White, 39.5 percent African American, 0.3 percent Asian, and 5.8 percent Hispanic. The area population base can be described as having a very high level of racial and ethnic diversity, with 45.6 percent of the population being minorities.
