Demographic Profile for Powhatan County, Virginia

Powhatan County, Virginia had a total estimated population of 26,598 in 2005. The total population has increased very sharply, since its 2000 population of 22,615. This growth signifies an increase of 17.6 percent. Powhatan ranks 24 of 134 counties when analyzing total population change in Virginia and the county ranks 576 of 3,141 counties in terms of population growth in the United States.

Powhatan County, Virginia has a population that is made up of 82.8 percent White, 15.1 percent African American, 0.2 percent Asian, and 1.3 percent Hispanic.
