Roanoke Metro Area industry wages have increased by 15.5% percent since 2001

From 2001 to 2006, average industry wages increased in the Roanoke Metro Area by a total of 15.5%. This is less than the growth in wages for the State of Virginia and less than the growth in industry wages for the nation as a whole.

Roanoke Metro Area Industry Wages Lag Behind Virginia, and Wages Lag Behind the United States Industry Wages

The average total wages in all industries in Roanoke, VA when analyzed can be described as medium-low when analyzed with other 2nd quarter of 2006 Metro Area wages throughout the US. The average pay is 22.9 percent lower than the reported averages in the state of $42,126. The overall industry wage was less than the overall average in the United States of $40,259.
