The Used merchandise stores industry has lost the largest amount of employment in terms of percentage, losing 58.9 percent of the jobs from the 2nd quarter of 2001 to 2nd quarter of 2006. Income and Poverty in Shenandoah County, Virginia

Hispanic Householders in Shenandoah County, Virginia recorded a median income of $41,699, which is 9 percent less than the reported median household income for all households in the area. Shenandoah County, Virginia had an estimated population of 39,184 in 2005. The total population has increased sharply, since its 2000 population of 35,238. This growth shows an increase of 11.2 percent. Shenandoah ranks 25 of 134 counties when analyzing total population change in Virginia and the county ranks 580 of 3,141 counties when analyzing total county population change across the nation.
