York County, Virginia has a population that is made up of 76.6 percent White, 13.2 percent African American, 4.2 percent Asian, and 3.6 percent Hispanic. This area can be considered to have a high level of diversity in terms of race and ethnicity, with 21.0 percent of the population being minorities. This is less than the State of Virginia percent of 30. Since 2000, York has increased the percent of minority makeup when 19.3 percent of the total population were minorities.
