In Rutland County, jobs in the software publishers pay the highest wages

Rutland County Wages have increased by 18.1% Since 2001

From the second quarter of 2001 to the second quarter of 2006, industry wages have increased in Rutland County, Vermont by a total of 18.1%. This is greater than the growth in industry wages for Vermont and greater than the growth in industry wages for the nation as a whole.

Income and Poverty in Rutland County, Vermont

Black or African American householders reported a median household income that was 23.5 percent less than the all population median published in the 2000 Census, with a median of $32,906. It was reported in 2000 that the Asian headed households had median household incomes of $47,288. This median is 10 percent greater than the reported median for all households in the area. The households that were headed by an American Indian and Alaska Native individual in Rutland County had a median income of $29,668, which was 31 percent less than the areas median level for all households. Hispanic in Rutland County, Vermont recorded a median income of $33,345, which is 22.4 percent less than the median reported for all households in the area. In Rutland County, Vermont White headed households reported a median household income (2005 Dollars) of $43,161 as reported in 2000 by the census, which was 0.4 percent greater than the median in 2000.

In 2000, the Census reported that in Rutland County, Vermont, the most common level of education achieved in the area for the male population is the High School Diploma category, with 36.8 percent obtaining this level of education. The women in Rutland have attainment on average a greater level of higher education (Bachelors Degree or Higher) than the male population-- 22.2 percent (Men) versus 24.2 percent (Women). Rutland County, Vermont had a population that was estimated at 63,743 in the year 2005. The population has increased, since the 2000 total population of 63,419. This growth shows an increase of 0.5 percent. Rutland ranks 11 of 14 counties when calculating total change in population for Vermont and the county ranks 1,540 of 3,141 counties in terms of population growth in the United States.
