Brooke County, West Virginia had an estimated population of 24,515 for the year 2005. The total population has decreased, from the population in the year 2000 of 25,375. The decline shows a decrease of -3.4 percent. Brooke ranks 46 of 55 counties when calculating total change in population for West Virginia and the county ranks 2,919 of 3,141 counties by growth in county population in the United States.

The U.S. Census Bureau, in the year 2005, estimated a median age in Brooke County, West Virginia to be 43.8 years old.
